-“Now I know why you love him.”-

Tom turned bright red. “Commander.” he stammered.

“Chakotay.” Chakotay interrupted gently.

“W-What?”

“My name, it’s Chakotay.” He stepped closer to Tom, till they were practically touching. “Is it true? What he said? Do you love me?”

“Y-Yes. I’m sorry.”

“Why should you be sorry?”

Tom stared at his shoes, unanswering.

“You have no reason to be sorry. You just made me unbelievably happy.” An expression of confusion crossed Tom’s face just as Chakotay brought his lips to his, kissing him softly. Tom leaned enthusiastically into the kiss. Chakotay wrapped his arms around the slighter man, pulling him close. Reveling in the feel of those soft lips caressing his, that hard lean body against him. Their reverie was interrupted by a loudly cleared throat. They turned to see Tuvok standing in the doorway, arms crossed. “Commander, I do not believe this is the proper behavior regarding your patient.”

Tom and Chakotay turned to regard each other. Chakotay raised his eyebrows questioningly. Tom nodded reluctantly. “I’ve kept it hidden too long, might as well abandon the pretense all together.” He called out, “Father! The secrets out please make yourself visible to everyone else.”

Ares reappeared, and waved at Tuvok. Tuvok raised one eyebrow. “Curious.”
