“It’s nice to meet you sir” Chakotay said politely, putting his hand out for the god to shake. Ares looked amused, Tom was flabbergasted. Chakotay turned back to Tom, curious, “This offer my spirit guide mentioned, what was it?”
“He wants me to become a god. I want to stay human.”
“No one has ever refused to become a god.” Ares protested, “You’re just being difficult to spite me.”
“I am not! I don’t care what you think, I just don’t want to become a god.”
“Ares do you care for Tom?” Chakotay interrupted.
“Of course I do, he’s my son.”
“Then why are you making him unhappy by trying to force him into something he’s not meant for?”
“Ares was silent, thinking it over.
“Wouldn’t it be best to just let him do what he wants and spend your time getting to know your son better?”
“You’re right,” Ares agreed reluctantly, “Great Zeus, I’m taking advise from a mortal!”
“Tom smiled brilliantly.
“Ares turned to Tom, “He’s got a good head on his shoulders, for a mortal,” he admitted, “I’m sorry for what I put you through. And now I know why you love him.”
Mwahhahha! That’s it! You have to wait until the next chapter. Gods I love being evil.
